[IZ] Paradise Drive Bike, 7/28

Dist: about 50 miles
Time: about 4:00
Avg: 12.5 MPH

Wall Time: 4:45
Wall Avg: 10.5 MPH

HR Avg: 140
HR Max: 170

Through the Presidio to the bridge, under the bridge, Sausalito, Bridgeway, Seminary Drive, Tiburon, Paradise Drive, Corte Madera, back to Bridgeway, Sausalito, under the bridge, and home along Crissy Field.

I can't find my cyclocomputer, so I've estimated the distance based on past rides, and the riding time from a timer on my HR monitor.

I think the overhead bus electrical lines confuse my HR monitor. Just outside my apartment (where the #1 bus passes) it went from 237 to 0 and back until I turned off the street. Perhaps I had a heart attack, then died, then came back again when I turned onto Clay St.

Glad to see you came back to life and getting out there.

I think your average speed may be much lower due to the hills out there. We should be able to due the century in 6:15 actual ride time avg 16 MPH... possibly a slightly longer.

I think you're overestimating my speed and endurance. I could maybe average 16 MPH on flat windless days, but I still need to stop every 20 miles to rest and stretch or I get cramps.

With hills or wind, I usually average 12-13 MPH.

And in any case, my wall time average is nearly always < 12 MPH.

Just FYI, the last time I did this ride I left the apartment at (I think) around 6:30am and got back after dark. Including getting to and from the start, it was about 126 miles.

I thought it was a 100 mile ride. You need a better bike if you can't avg 16mph.

what's wall time average? I'm only talking about actual biking time.
